Murder scene: Police in the street where the body of Glynis Bensley was found
A boy aged 13 has appeared in court charged with murder.The body of Glynis Bensley, 47, was discovered shortly before midnight on September 3 in a residential street.
She was pronounced dead at the scene in Smethwick, West Mids.It was later revealed she had died from head injuries.Detectives arrested the schoolboy on Tuesday.
He appeared at Sandwell youth court today and was remanded to a secure unit ahead of a bail hearing at Wolverhampton crown court on Friday.
A 14-year-old boy who was arrested after Ms Bensley’s body was found remains on conditional police bail.Det Chief Insp Sam Ridding, of West Midlands Police, said: “Our thoughts remain with Glynis’ family and friends.”
